The opening ceremony of the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games began in Paris. About 10 thousand athletes take part in the event, including athletes of the Turkmenistan national team.
For the first time in the history of the Summer Olympic Games, the opening ceremony is not taking place in a large stadium, but in the very center of the city.
The main feature of the ceremony is the boat parade of athletes: athletes from 205 countries will sail on 95 boats along the Seine along a route overlooking the sights of Paris.
Let us remind that Turkmenistan is represented at the largest world forum on the planet by: judoists Serdar Rahimov (weight category up to 66 kg), Maysa Pardaeva (up to 57 kg), weightlifter Davranbek Hasanbaev (up to 102 kg), swimmers Musa Jalaev (100 meters freestyle Aynura Primova (100 meters backstroke) and athlete Valentina Meredova (100 meters run).
It Is worth noting that Turkmen athletes have already conducted their first training sessions in Paris. Thus, swimmers Musa Jalaev and Ainura Primova tested the Olympic pool. Track and field athlete Valentina Meredova also began preparing for competitions. Judoists Serdar Rahimov and Maysa Pardaeva also started training.
As the electronic newspaper “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” reports, on August 4, the delegation in Paris will be joined by weightlifter Davranbek Hasanbayev, who is currently completing preparations for the Olympic Games under the leadership of the head coach of the national team of Turkmenistan Mansur Rejepov at the final training camp in Gökdere.
