The National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan has determined the final composition of the country's national team to participate in the XXXII Summer Olympic Games, which will be held in Tokyo from July 23 to August 8, 2021.
The national team included:
Gulbadam Babamuratova - judo (up to 52 kilograms)
Khojamuhammed Toychiev - weightlifting (+109 kg)
Ovez Ovezov - weightlifting (109 kg)
Rejepbay Rejepov - weightlifting (81 kg)
Polina Guryeva - weightlifting (59 kg)
Kristina Shermetova - weightlifting (55 kg)
Mergen Mammedov - athletics (hammer throw)
Daria Semyonova - swimming (100 meters breaststroke)
Merdan Atayev - swimming (100 and 200 meters backstroke)
A team of sports specialists and coaches will also go to Tokyo.Among them are Chemengul Geldybaeva (judo), honored coaches of Turkmenistan Ikram Matkarimov and Artur Emiryan (head coach of the national team), as well as an international master of sports, four-time Olympic participant Umurbek Bazarbayev - weightlifting mentors, international master of sports in athletics Khadzhimurat Rakhmanov and senior coach of the national men's and women's swimming teams, honored coach of Turkmenistan Sergey Epifanov.
