The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov went on a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will take part in the mourning events.
On May 19, President Ebrahim Raisi's helicopter crashed in the Iranian province of East Azerbaijan. The President, along with Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and other officials, was returning from the opening ceremony of a reservoir on the border between Iran and Azerbaijan. None of the people on board the crashed helicopter survived.
