Days of Russian Culture in Turkmenistan will be held in Ashgabat on October 16 and 17.
The event will open on October 16 with a performance by the State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble of Adygea “Nalmes” under the direction of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Aslan Hajayev.
This renowned group, founded in 1936, will present a program to the audience that will include the ancient dance “Islamey”, a dance with daggers, “Necklace of Folk Dances of the Adygea Diaspora” and other bright numbers.
The concert will be held in the Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan and will begin at 19:00.
On the same day, the exhibition “Patchwork Mosaic of Russia” will open at the Mukam Palace, organized by the State Russian House of Folk Art named after V.D. Polenov.
A special event will be master classes by the famous Russian pianist Dmitry Masleev, soloist of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic. Masleev, winner of the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition and recipient of many other prestigious awards, will share his skills with Turkmen musicians.
On October 17, the program will continue with a classical music concert “Towards the Anniversary of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky”. Dmitry Masleev will perform works by P.I. Tchaikovsky and S.V. Rachmaninov. The concert will begin at
19:00 in the Mukams Palace. Also on October 17, the Mukams Palace will open an exhibition “Planet Tchaikovsky” dedicated to the 225th anniversary of the great composer's birth. The exhibition was prepared by the Russian National Museum of Music.
The Days of Russian Culture in Turkmenistan are intended to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries and introduce the Turkmen public to the richness and diversity of Russian art.
