The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation discussed issues of cooperation with Turkmenistan in the field of healthcare

In Moscow was held a meeting of the Deputy Minister of Healthcare of Russia and the Deputy Minister of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan Myrat Mammedov, the official website of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation reports.

During the conducted meeting in the building of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, the participants stated the high level of development of bilateral relations in the field of health protection. Specific interest is paid for such directions as continuing medical education, medical tourism and digital transformation of healthcare.

Tatiana Semenova noted that Turkmen medical specialists are regularly trained in Russia on additional professional education programs with an emphasis on the use of modern medical equipment.

Myrat Mammadov, for his part, highly appreciated the cooperation between the two countries during the pandemic and noted that Turkmenistan was one of the first states to receive the Russian vaccine for the prevention of the new Sputnik V coronavirus infection, which showed high efficiency and safety.

During 2022, experts from Turkmenistan have repeatedly visited leading Russian centers working in the field of therapy and prevention, ophthalmology, cardiac surgery, oncology, ophthalmology, balneology and rehabilitation.

The meeting participants agreed to continue and intensify contacts at all levels in the healthcare sector in 2023.

Between Turkmenistan and Russia have established close long term relations in the sphere of healthcare.An agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of Turkmenistan on cooperation in the sphere of healthcare, medical education and science (2017) is valid, on the basis of which professional relations between leading medical, educational and scientific organizations of two countries are actively established and developed.

Agreements on cooperation with partners in Turkmenistan were signed by NMRC “NMRC OGP named after V.I. Kulakov”, NMRC “MNII GB named after Helmholtz”, NMRC “NMRC TAO named after V.I.Shumakov” and NMRC “NMRC CVS named after A.N.Bakulev” of the Ministry of Health of Russia. A number of other documents are being prepared for signing.
