The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a press briefing dedicated to the upcoming large-scale celebrations on the occasion of a significant date - the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi, the press service of the foreign ministry reports.

The event was moderated by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mahri Bashimova and Deputy Minister of Culture Nursahet Shirimov. The meeting was attended by heads and representatives of diplomatic missions, international organizations accredited in the country, as well as foreign and local media.

During the briefing, it was emphasized that the inclusion of Magtymguly Fragi’s collection of manuscripts in the prestigious International Memory of the World Register by UNESCO in May 2023 is evidence of worldwide recognition of the unique contribution of the Turkmen poet-philosopher to the treasury of world culture.

The fact that the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly was included in the list of significant dates of the joint celebration of UNESCO and the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) for 2024-2025 eloquently demonstrates the enduring value of his literary heritage both for Turkmenistan and for the entire world community.
