The United Arab Emirates has established a Ministry of Family Affairs. This was announced by Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The new ministry will be headed by Sanaa Suhail, who has significant experience in early childhood, family support, and assistance to people with disabilities, reports russianemirates.com.
Sheikh Mohammed defined the key areas of activity of the new department:
Development and implementation of programs aimed at creating strong families and strengthening the role of the family in raising children.
Initiation of measures to increase the birth rate.
Reducing the risk of family breakdown and minimizing the negative consequences for individuals and society.
Preparing couples for marriage, as well as organizing and funding family support programs.
Developing programs to develop parenting skills and promote work-life balance.
Ensuring the comprehensive well-being of children, including their social, psychological, educational and medical protection.
Protecting the rights and interests of vulnerable groups.
Training and improving the skills of specialists in the social sphere.
