On Monday, the delegation of Turkmenistan, headed by the Minister of Finance and Economy Serdar Jorayev, took part in the events of the High-Level Forum on Sustainable Development, which is being held in New York under the theme “Accelerating recovery from COVID-19 and the full implementation of the Sustainable Development Agenda for the period until 2030 at all levels”.
S. Jorayev, speaking at the plenary session, outlined the priority areas of Turkmenistan's activities to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals both at the national level and in the international format.
The speech noted the high degree of integration of global development goals into medium-term and long-term national socio-economic programs and strategies.
It was noted that during the pandemic, Turkmenistan managed to maintain the stability of economic development without stopping the growth of most industries.
The implementation of the SDGs in Turkmenistan is focused on improving the living standards of the population, promoting a healthy lifestyle, creating conditions for an inclusive, fair and high-quality education, ensuring environmental sustainability, introducing innovations in all areas of economic activity, reports the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
