The mayor of New York called rats one of the reasons for the mass outflow of population

New York Mayor Eric Adams said that the large number of rats in the city is one of the reasons for the massive outflow of population. According to the US Census Bureau, about 102 thousand people left the city over the past year, writes gazeta.ru with reference to The New York Post.

Adams noted that the high cost of living and the effects of the coronavirus pandemic are also negatively affecting the attractiveness of New York for residents. However, according to the mayor, rats are one of the main factors that scare people away from the city.

He added that city authorities are taking measures to combat rodents.
