1.A telephone conversation was between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Türkiye.The heads of foreign affairs departments, Rashid Meredov and Hakan Fidan, discussed the progress of implementation of previously reached agreements at the highest state level and the possibility of further deepening bilateral cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to the political, economic and trade interaction between the two countries.
2.The Balkan shipbuilding and ship repair plant in Turkmenistan, together with partners, plans to put into operation the first bulk carrier within 14 months after the start of work.
Such optimal shipbuilding periods are among the shortest in the region, said Batyr Annayev, Deputy Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, during the Global Gateway Investor Forum in Brussels.
3.The Organizing Committee of the VIII Moscow International Arts Festival “Sounds of Dutar” has prepared a series of events dedicated to the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.
Within the framework of the celebration, an international literary competition of readers “The Universe of the Word”, an art competition of illustrations for Magtymguly’s poems “Reflection”, as well as a competition of composers and a competition of projects dedicated to the work of the poet will be held.
The series of events will be completed by the international scientific and practical conference “Magtymguly and his role in world culture” and a gala concert with the mono-opera “Monologues of Magtymguly Fragi”.
The series of events will last throughout the year.
4.The Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages will hold the II Olympiad in English among students of grades 9-11 of secondary schools in Turkmenistan.The purpose of the intellectual competition is to strengthen and improve the theoretical and practical knowledge of schoolchildren, as well as increase their interest in learning English.
The Olympics will be held remotely.Applications with a list of students wishing to take part in the competition will be accepted until February 24.
5. Russia will continue to participate in transport projects of Turkmenistan and other countries within the framework of the development of the international “North-South” route. This statement was made by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Alexey Overchuk, commenting on the increasing importance of the transport corridor against the backdrop of various problems in other transcontinental routes.

6. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony was performed at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg in honor of the bicentenary of the world premiere. The Ninth Symphony was first performed in Vienna on May 7, 1824. The orchestra was then led by Beethoven himself. This time, the Turkish maestro Cemi’i Can Deliorman was entrusted with conducting the orchestra.
7. Astronomers have discovered a new exoplanet that orbits a red dwarf star every 13,7 hours. The exoplanet, called Wolf 327 b, has been classified as an “ultra-short period super-Earth”. It is slightly larger and about 2,5 times more massive than Earth.

8.The “Arkadag” football club held its first control match in preparation for the new season of the Turkmenistan Championship 2024.The game was held in Antalya, Türkiye, where the team arrived for a training camp.
In the match against North Macedonian “Vardar”, head coach Vladimir Bayramov’s team won with a score of 1:0.The only goal was scored by striker Altymurat Annadurdyev.
9.The Turkmenistan women's futsal team went to the Central Asian Football Association championship, which will be held in Dushanbe from February 2 to 12.The national team consists of 14 football players who were trained under the guidance of coaches Kamil Mingazov and Yakub Ovezov.
According to preliminary information, the tournament matches will be broadcast live on Tajik television channels.The first match of the national team of Turkmenistan at the tournament will be held on February 4 against rivals from Kyrgyzstan.
10.Kurban Berdyev decided to leave the post of head coach of “Dynamo” Makhachkala.The solution corresponds to a contractual agreement, which contains a clause permitting either party to terminate the cooperation unilaterally.
FC “Dynamo” respects the decision of Kurban Bekievich and thanks for the work done, the club’s press service said in a statement.It is also noted that the 71 years old Turkmen specialist will continue to prepare the team for the spring part of the 2023/24 season until the appointment of a new head coach.
