Dennis Austin, the developer of the famous PowerPoint presentation program, died at his home in Los Altos, California. He was 76 years old. The cause was lung cancer with metastases to the brain. This was reported by “Gazeta.Ru” with reference to The Washington Post.
Dennis Austin and Robert Gaskins developed PowerPoint in the 1980s. After some time, the company was bought by Microsoft, and Austin continued to lead the development of PowerPoint.
Let us remind that PowerPoint software, released in 1987 by a small development firm called Fore Thought, became the digital successor to overhead projectors and turned the labor-intensive process of creating slides into a task that any computer user could do.
