Astana is hosting the ComicConAstana comic culture festival, dedicated to the comic book industry, films based on them, video games and anime, writes the "Kazakhstanskaya Pravda" newspaper.
The geek culture festival is taking place in the capital of Kazakhstan for the second time.The program includes many events and meetings, the number of guests is expected to be 60-70 thousand people.
The 2023 festival's headliners are "Guardians of the Galaxy" actors Sean Gunn and Michael Rooker and Alexander Kuznetsov, who co-stars in "Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore's Secrets".
Within the framework of the festival, a cosplay competition will be held, where fans of various movie, game and anime universes will be represented in the image of their favorite characters.
The prize fund for the competition is 10 million tenge.In addition to professional cosplayers, amateurs will also participate in the competition (the prize fund of the amateur cosplay competition is 1 million tenge).
Fans and master fans will be able to see and buy the works of artists, artists and comic book authors at the fair on the Alley of Authors.Also included in the program of the festival is the exhibition Pop Asia, dedicated to Asian pop culture, including anime, manga, manga and manhua, dramas, musical culture K-Pop, J-Pop and its Kazakh version - Q-pop.
