The Intra-Afghani negotiations will be renewed in Doha in the beginning of January

The following round of the Intra-Afghani negotiations will pass in Doha, head of the High Council for National Reconciliation of IRA Abdullah Abdullah informed.

The politician underlined that the corresponding decision was accepted following the results of the meeting between the administrative board of the Council and members of the Kabul Negotiating Team.

Advisor to the President of Afghanistan in public relations and strategic affairs Waheed Omar also stated that Ashraf Ghani agreed with negotiation in Qatar. Nevertheless, as he said, the government holds the opinion that in the future negotiations should be held in the territory of Afghanistan.

Earlier National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib of Afghanistan suggested holding the following round of negotiations in IRA, and the president supported this proposal. However the Taliban disagreed with it, insisting on the dialogue continuation in Qatar. Indonesia invited the Afghani parties to visit Jakarta.

At the yesterday’s session of the Council of reconciliation Abdullah underlined that the proposal on transfer of the venue of the Inter-Afghani negotiations should not become an obstacle on the way of their continuation.

Let’s remind that at negotiations the break was announced. It is expected that the dialogue will be renewed on January 5, next year.

Meanwhile, Indonesia invited the conflicting parties in Afghanistan to visit Jakarta. Former vice-president of Indonesia Yusuf Kalla urged Indonesian ulemas to take part in efforts on an attainment of peace in Afghanistan, informs the Indonesian news agency Antara.

Behind the scenes of the visit to Kabul Jusuf Kalla stated that the Council of ulemas of Indonesia can serve its purpose, having invited the parties in Afghanistan to dialogue.

“Inviting conflicting parties to hold a dialog in Jakarta is one of the options. We will invite the Indonesian Ulemas Council (MUI),”- stated Yusuf Kalla.
