Recently, the international virtual symposium Nutrition is of great importance during the pandemic and the 3rd meeting of the Regional Nutrition Capacity Development and Partnership Platform in Central Asia and Caucasus have taken place.
In connection with the term termination, according to the provisions of the secretariat, rotation has been held. Kazakhstan has transferred its rights of chairman to representatives of Turkmenistan. The new chairman will be announced in January, 2021.
The symposium was organised by the UNICEF Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (ECA) in cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan government, WHO, FAO, UN System Standing Committee on Nutrition (UNSCN) and others.
They discussed the global strategy of UNICEF in the field of nutrition for 2020-2030 and also progress of the countries in management efficiency increase in sphere of food and reaction measures to СOVID-19 in the sphere of nutrition of 8 countries and achievements by region for 2019-2020.
Representatives of member states of the Regional Nutrition Capacity Development and Partnership Platform in Central Asia and Caucasus from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, and also representatives of the international organisations, scientific circles and experts participated.
