The International University Sports Federation (FISU) searches for young children for participation in the Academy of volunteers-leaders (Volunteer Leader Academy) this year, and urges national federations to nominate corresponding candidates.
The mission of the FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy (FVLA) is to further develop university sports globally, in cooperation with National and Continental University Sports Federations (NUSFs and CUSFs), through the training and development of future FISU Student Ambassadors.
This opportunity is open to all university students aged between 18-25 years, who can demonstrate a genuine interest and involvement in university sports events and in sport, cultural and social life in general.
In June this year the selected participants from around the world will be introduced to the International University Sports Federation, its events and activities, as well as the leadership.
The educational component of the program Volunteer Leader Academy includes acquaintance with history, structure, and also sports and educational actions of FISU. Participants also will join seminars on various aspects of university sports, including volunteer management in actions, mass media and communications.
This once in a lifetime experience brings together individuals from all over the world, to take part in a world-class leadership programme. FISU looks forward to receiving the nominations from continental and national member federations, as told in the statement of FISU.
It is expected that young leaders also will play an important role in organization of International Day of University Sport which is marked on September 20.
