The Intergovernmental commission focuses on the aspects of the Turkmen-Afghan dialogue

The Intergovernmental Turkmen-Afghan commission on the economic cooperation held the 7th session in Ashgabat. Acting Minister of Finance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Humayun Qayumi headed the IRA delegation, including the heads and specialists of the relevant ministries and departments.

The meeting agenda focused on the promising areas of cooperation. The meeting participants analyzed the results of the joint work on the implementation of the existing interstate agreements.

The parties emphasized the mutual commitments on developing the cultural and humanitarian cooperation, in particular in the spheres of science, culture, health care, education and tourism.

It was underlined the political, social and economic significance of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline as a strategic energy project for the member countries.

The Memorandum on the construction of the branch railway line for developing the Akina station was signed between the railway transport departments of the two countries.

On the outcomes of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Afghan commission on the economic cooperation signed the protocol.
