The heat in Rio de Janeiro has reached record levels

According to meteorologists, the air in one of the largest cities in Brazil warmed up to 39 degrees Celsius.However, residents felt the heat as 58.5 degrees.

This is the highest figure recorded in Rio de Janeiro in the entire history of meteorological observations.The previous record heat in Rio de Janeiro was recorded in February 2023 and was 58 degrees.

In addition, residents of the country actively use air conditioners, which has led to record levels of electricity consumption.

Due to extremely hot weather, 15 states in Brazil have declared a maximum weather alert.
