The headquarters of the mission of CIS observers for the elections to the Mejlis opened in Ashgabat

Today, the headquarters of the mission of observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States opened in Ashgabat for the parliamentary elections to be held in Turkmenistan on March 26, the Mir 24 TV channel reported.

The mission of observers from the CIS will monitor the electoral campaign at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

It is expected that the mission will include more than 50 people: representatives of the CIS countries, chairmen of the Central Election Commissions of the CIS countries, the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, the parliaments of the CIS countries and diplomats accredited in Ashgabat. This was stated by Deputy Secretary General of the CIS Ilhom Nematov.

The mission will be led by CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev.

We remind that on the day of the elections of deputies of the Mejlis of the seventh convocation, elections of members of the velayat, etrap and city halk maslahaty of the fifth convocation, as well as members of the Gengeshes of the ninth convocation, will also be held. 125 electoral districts will be created throughout the country.
