The President of Turkmenistan signed a Resolution to further increase cotton production in the country based on the rational use of land, water, agricultural machinery and mineral fertilizers, and high-quality agrotechnical measures. This was reported by TDH.
In accordance with the document, the Ministry of Agriculture, the State Concern Türkmenpagta, the hakimliks of the Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats were instructed to:
Ensure the production of appropriate volumes of cotton in Turkmenistan in 2025 by organizing the work of tenants, land users and landowners at a high level; Place cotton seeds in etraps taking into account soil and climatic conditions in accordance with the plan approved by the Ministry of Agriculture.
Based on the contract with cotton producers, it is ordered to provide them with the following within the timeframes corresponding to agrotechnical standards:
The State Concern Türkmenpagta with the necessary volumes of high-quality cotton seeds; The State Association Türkmenobahyzmat with technical services related to the preparation of land for sowing, sowing cotton, caring for crops and harvesting cotton; The State Water Management Committee with the appropriate volumes of irrigation water; The State Concern Türkmenhimiýa with the appropriate volumes of fertilizers.
