US will not undertake a hasty or disorderly withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan, US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin stated during the videoconference of Ministers of Defence of the countries of the NATO.
He thanked allies for adherence of the mission in IRA and underlined that Washington is still attached to diplomatic efforts to end the war in Afghanistan.
The Minister of Defence noted that the USA carries out the careful analysis of conditions of the Doha agreement to check up, whether the parties meet these conditions. He added that Washington intends to consult to allies throughout all process.
At the meeting of Ministers of Defence of the countries of the NATO the issue of military presence in IRA was discussed. Following the results of the meeting the head of the alliance Jens Stoltenberg stated that in the NATO yet have not accepted the final decision concerning a withdrawal of troops.
The Secretary General admitted possibility to postpone a withdrawal of troops for later date than that had been co-ordinated by America and the Taliban last year.
According to the agreement from February, 2020 which the Trump administration had signed with the Taliban, Washington was obliged by May 1 to withdraw all foreign armies from Afghanistan. It is about 10 thousand military men of the USA and the NATO. President Joe Biden now carries out revision of this transaction.
