The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan met with the EU Special Representative for Human Rights

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the Special Representative of the European Union for Human Rights Olof Skoog, the press service of the foreign ministry reports.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union and noted the parties’ interest in its multifaceted development, including on issues of the rule of law and human rights.

The EU representative was familiarized with the large-scale activities of Turkmenistan to ensure high socio-economic living conditions for the population, ensuring progress in the protection and promotion of human rights and freedoms.

The parties noted the high importance of the exchange of views within the framework of regularly held Human Rights Dialogues, the next meeting of which will be held in Ashgabat on June 25, 2024, the statement said.
