The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan discussed security projects with the US Ambassador

A number of security projects were discussed today in Ashgabat by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkmenistan Matthew Stephen Klimow, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.

Marking the importance of further strengthening of political and diplomatic cooperation, the interlocutors stated the effectiveness of the mechanism of political consultations between two countries and expressed readiness to expand them.

During the meeting the issues on the development of the Turkmen-American trade and economic cooperation were discussed, perspectives of mutually beneficial partnership on the full range of directions were noted.

Special attention was paid to the two-sided cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The Head of Turkmen Foreign Affairs institution gave a high mark to the activities of the US Ambassador Fund on preservation of cultural legacy, providing valuable insights to the work on preservation of historical legacy of Turkmenistan.

During the conversation a progress of joint academic program were considered in details.

The interlocutors, also, exchanged with the opinion on the wide range of topical regional and world problems of mutual interest.
