Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov has arrived in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iran's new President Masoud Pezeshkian. The ceremony will take place today in the Iranian parliament after Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei approved Pezeshkian as head of state, Mehr reports.

R. Meredov's visit is being carried out by order of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, signed on July 26 at a government meeting. The President of Turkmenistan emphasized that Iran is one of the country's closest neighbors and partners, with whom friendly and fraternal relations have been established.

It is worth noting that Rashid Meredov also holds the post of Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan and is the chairman of the Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation from the Turkmen side.
