Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held negotiations with the commercial director of Dubai Aviation Corporation (Flydubai) Hamad Obaidallah as part of his working visit to the UAE, writes TDH.
Hamad Obaidallah noted that many representatives of the UAE business community are deeply interested in close cooperation with Turkmenistan.
It was noted that, successfully implementing the policy of “open doors” and broad international cooperation, Turkmenistan stands for establishing direct ties with leading foreign companies with a reliable business reputation.
The country is consistently developing routes not only for land transport, but also for air transport.Thus, in 2010, Turkmenistan became the first Central Asian country to establish regular flights with the UAE.
Thanks to the cooperation between the Türkmenhowaýollary agency and the Dubai Aviation Corporation, today flights on the route Ashgabat - Dubai - Ashgabat are regularly operated.Since January 5, 2024, air communication has been carried out between the capitals of the two countries - Ashgabat and Abu Dhabi, which will directly contribute to the intensification of interstate relations, in particular, trade and economic cooperation.
The commercial director of Dubai Aviation Corporation highly appreciated the modern infrastructure of the aviation industry created in Turkmenistan in recent years, the coordinated work of its technical services and confirmed Flydubai’s desire to expand mutually beneficial partnership, in particular, it was proposed to increase the number of flights operated between the two countries.
Taking into account the experience and capabilities of Flydubai as one of the world's leading air carriers of passengers and cargo, prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation are opening up not only in the field of training qualified aviation personnel, but also in providing technical support and services, and providing the latest, innovative equipment.
At the end of the meeting, a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding took place between the Türkmenhowaýollary agency of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and Dubai Aviation Corporation.
