National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to Abu Dhabi, held talks with the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The meeting took place on January 4 at the Al Shatieh Presidential Palace. As the TDH news agency reports, the parties discussed the further development of bilateral relations and mutually beneficial cooperation.
The UAE President highly appreciated the long-term partnership between the two countries and thanked the Turkmen side for supporting traditional ties.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people congratulated the President of the UAE on the successful holding of the UN Climate Conference (COP-28) in Dubai and conveyed greetings from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
“The United Arab Emirates is our friend, a reliable economic and trade partner, as well as a like-minded person in solving many pressing issues of our time,” said National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The parties confirmed their intention to further develop the dialogue in the interests of the two states. In general opinion, the Joint Committee on Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates plays an important role in intensifying bilateral cooperation. Promising vectors for the development of Turkmen-Emirati economic cooperation are outlined.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people noted the successful partnership with financial institutions of the United Arab Emirates, as well as in such areas as energy, transport and communications, industrial and agro-industrial complex, and high technology.
Having voiced new specific initiatives to increase cooperation in the most promising areas, Arkadag expressed hope that they will find full support from the Emirates for their speedy practical implementation.
Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of strengthening established interstate ties in science, culture and sports. The corresponding agreements were reached after analyzing previously adopted agreements.
At the end of the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited the President of the UAE to visit Turkmenistan at a time convenient for him.
