The final fifth volume of the book “Memory” has been published in Turkmenistan

The final, fifth volume of the book Hatyra (“Memory”) is dedicated to the memory of Turkmen soldiers who fought heroically in battles for their homeland in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, who fell on the battlefield, died from wounds in hospitals, and went missing, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

The book was prepared for printing by the Main Archival Administration under the Cabinet of Ministers and published by the Turkmen State Publishing Service.

The publication opens with a congratulatory address from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The fifth volume of the Hatyra book pays tribute to the heroic deeds of Turkmen soldiers from the Mary velayat. According to available data, about 21,300 people from the Mary velayat died or went missing during the Great Patriotic War.

The new edition lists the soldiers who went missing, died heroically on the battlefield, were seriously wounded, and did not return to their families in alphabetical order.

Here you will find information from historical sources, letters of various content, photographs of soldiers, news published during the war, photographs of monuments erected in the villages of the Mary velayat.

In Turkmenistan, a great deal of noble work is being done to convey to the present and future generations the significance of the great victory in this war and the feat of our compatriots who gave their lives for a peaceful and prosperous life.

A worthy contribution to this matter is made by archivists who took direct part in collecting historical materials and processing them when creating the book, the source notes.
