Every year, on the eve of the New Year, cities around the world shed their gray routine and transform, filling the streets with the spirit of celebration and magic.
This year, the main Christmas trees in the Town Hall and Dome Squares were lit in the capital of Latvia, Riga. But not only the beauty of traditional New Year trees will be remembered by the townspeople this year.In the center of Riga within the framework of the social campaign "Don't bury the future!" at the request of Clean R, an educational 9-meter fir was installed, created from recyclable waste such as plastic, tires, metal and paper packaging, biodegradable waste and even electrical goods.
The purpose of the art installation is to encourage every passer-by to think about their environmental responsibility to nature, to think wisely when shopping and sorting waste. Also, having read the QR code at the eco-tree with the help of the phone, the visitor gets to the Internet platform of the social campaign www.nenoroc.lv, where you can watch videos on how waste is converted into materials and recycled into new products, as well as receive simple tips on how you can reduce the amount of waste generated.
