Actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will receive a record 50 million USD for his role in the upcoming Amazon film “Red”, gazeta.ru reports with reference to The Direct.
Prior to this, the maximum fee of the actor was about 23,5 million USD for participation in the film “Fast and the Furious: Hobbs and Shaw”. Dwayne Johnson overtook Robert Downey Jr, who received 40 million USD for his role as Iron Man in “Captain America: Civil War”.
Also, in the top five artists who received the highest fee for a role were Johnny Depp (35 million USD for “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”), Will Smith (35 million USD for “Deliverance”) and Keanu Reeves (30 million USD for pictures “The Matrix Reloaded” and “The Matrix Revolutions”).
The source also informs that Dwayne Johnson will return to the role of Luke Hobbs and play in the new spin-off of the “Fast and Furious” franchise. Johnson will also serve as producer on the new project alongside Vin Diesel.
