The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium organized a reading competition

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Kingdom of Belgium held a poetry reading competition by Magtymguly Fragi, in which local schoolchildren took part.

The poems of the great Turkmen poet were performed in English, French and Portuguese, the MIC reports.

One of the young participants translated Magtymguly Fragi’s poem from English into Portuguese for the first time, said the secretary of the Turkmen diplomatic mission, Maral Rahymova.

The winners of the competition were given a traditional Turkmen carpet as a prize, and the guests were given a national delicacy: dried melon in chocolate as a sweet gift.

As part of this event, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, an exhibition of Turkmen national costumes and jewelry was organized, the source notes.
