In Ashgabat, a meeting was held between Advisor to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas issues Ashirguly Begliev with the head of the local branch of the Chinese company CNPC Chen Huailun and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Turkmenistan Qian Naicheng.
The parties discussed deepening bilateral cooperation in the gas sector, TDH reports.
The meeting participants expressed gratitude to the leadership of the two countries President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for creating conditions for the development of the Turkmen-Chinese partnership on the principles of friendship and trust.
The Turkmen side emphasized the priority importance of the oil and gas complex for the socio-economic development of the country. Under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a comprehensive strategy for the innovative development of the fuel and energy industry is being implemented, with an emphasis on the environment, modernization and diversification of export routes.
The parties discussed the progress of implementation of existing gas agreements, as well as prospects for cooperation, including the project for the second stage of the Galkynysh field. The productivity of work with CNPC and other leading companies in the favorable conditions created in Turkmenistan was noted.
