The delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the meeting of special representatives for Afghanistan

The delegation of Turkmenistan, led by the country’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs A. Gurbanov, took part in the third meeting of special representatives for Afghanistan, which was held under the auspices of the UN from June 30 to July 1 in Doha (State of Qatar).

Among the participants there was also a delegation from Afghanistan.

During the meeting, participants exchanged views on the current political, economic and humanitarian situation in Afghanistan, prospects for expanding the capabilities of the private sector and combating illicit drug trafficking in the country.

In his speech, the head of the Turkmen delegation spoke about the consistent activities of Turkmenistan to provide comprehensive assistance to the Afghan people. It was noted that the exhibition of goods and services of

Afghanistan, the Turkmen-Afghan business forum held in Ashgabat this year, as well as the visit of entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan to Herat contribute to the expansion of trade relations between the private sector of both countries.

A. Gurbanov emphasized that Turkmenistan, in accordance with its international obligations, in close cooperation with other states and international organizations, is pursuing an active policy of combating drug trafficking and other negative challenges of our time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
