Today in Moscow, in the “Skolkovo” techno park, the II Caspian Economic Forum began its work, in which a delegation from Turkmenistan also participates.
CEF is the largest platform for discussing topical issues of cooperation between the participating countries of the Caspian region, and also friendly border states.
Official delegations of the “Caspian five” countries - Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, representatives of federal and regional Russian authorities, and heads of leading companies are participating in the forum, reports moscow-baku.ru.
During the CEF, issues of developing trade and economic cooperation, interaction in the field of ecology, energy, transport and logistics, energy and tourism, urban infrastructure and the social and humanitarian sphere will be discussed.
The forum will also host a meeting of the International Council for Business Cooperation of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the countries of the Caspian region “Business Caspian”, a conference of mayors of cities and municipalities of the countries of the Caspian region.
The focus is on such topics as “The Caspian region as part of the Greater Eurasian Partnership: new challenges and development prospects”, “Energy projects of the “Caspian five”, “Caspian: Eurasian transport and logistics hub”, “Cooperation between the countries of the Caspian region in the field of tourism”, “The Caspian region in the global climate agenda: challenges, opportunities, approaches”.
The I Caspian Economic Forum was held in 2019 in Turkmenistan. A year before this event, the leaders of the “Caspian Five” countries signed the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, having also decided to create a permanent platform for the Caspian Economic Forum.
Let us remind that in June of this year, the VI Caspian Summit was held in Turkmenistan with the participation of the leaders of the Caspian countries.
