The delegation of Turkmenistan participated in the annual symposium of the World Anti-Doping Agency in Lausanne, Switzerland. The official website of the NOC of Turkmenistan reported about this.
About 600 delegates participated in the event, who were joined virtually by more than 200 representatives of the global anti-doping community.
A representative of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan, the Secretary General of the NOC of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of the National Anti-Doping Agency of Turkmenistan participated in the symposium.
The WADA symposium traditionally brings together anti-doping experts from international federations, national and regional anti-doping organizations, governments, accredited laboratories, major event organizers, athletes and their coaches.
WADA’s last two annual symposiums, in 2020 and 2021, have been canceled due to the pandemic.
To preserve the purity of the Turkmen sport and coordinate the fight against the use of doping in it, Turkmenistan systematically cooperates with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). As a result of close work with this reputable international sports organization, the National Anti-Doping Agency of Turkmenistan (NADAT) was officially opened in 2017.
