The delegation of Turkmenistan discussed the expansion of trade ties with Afghanistan in Herat

The Turkmen delegation led by the Chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev visited the Afghan city of Herat. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the development of trade relations between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, reports the “Business Turkmenistan” publication.

The delegation held a meeting with the Governor of Herat Province, Nur Ahmad Islamjar. In addition, Turkmen businessmen visited marble processing plants in the industrial zone of Herat, where they got acquainted with the production of local enterprises.

At present time, there are about a thousand factories operating in Herat, and all their products are produced by the private sector of the province.

Earlier, on April 26, a Turkmen-Afghan meeting was held in Kabul under the leadership of the Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Mammethan Chakyyev, and the Minister of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan, Nuriddin Azizi.

The issue of creating a joint logistics center in Turgundi was discussed at the meeting.
