The Center of Excellence for Cyber Security was opened in Ashgabat

On the basis of the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan, the grand opening of the Cybersecurity Center of Excellence was held in Ashgabat on Friday, reports the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.

The OSCE Center in Ashgabat initiated the establishment of a Center of Excellence to support the efforts of the Government of Turkmenistan to strengthen the country's cyber/ICT security and assist the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics in playing a leading role in preventing and countering cyber threats.

During the official opening ceremony of this new university structure, the head of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat, Ambassador John McGregor, delivered a welcoming speech, signed the necessary documents on the transfer of equipment installed in the classroom, the manager's office and the server room, which are part of the infrastructure of the Cyber Security Center of Excellence.

In the context of cybersecurity tasks, the Faculty of Information Systems Security operates at the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan, which trains specialists in such areas as information security, information security of telecommunication systems, electronic security systems.
