From August 6 to 10, Tashkent will host the “Pakhtakor-79” children's football tournament in memory of the legendary team, whose composition almost completely died in a plane crash in 1979, writes Sputnik Uzbekistan.

Eight teams will take part in the tournament: “Pakhtakor”, “Neftchi”, “Andijan”, “Syrdarya”, “Kairat”, “Nasaf”, “Namangan” and “Pakhtakor”. The teams included athletes born in 2011.

Matches will be held at the stadium of the Chilanzar district of the Uzbek capital.

After the death of the main team of “Pakhtakor”, players from other clubs were brought into the team, and the team itself was provided with a place in the top league for three years, despite the final results. Also, in memory of the players in Tashkent in 2013, the “Pakhtakor-79” memorial was opened.
