The canals of Venice were devastated by strong low tides

Almost all the canals in Venice have dried up - the water level in them has fallen to an all-time low due to strong low tides, the BBC News service reported.

On average, the level dropped by 70 centimeters, which is why the bottom appeared in the shallowest channels. The movement of gondolas along these channels has ceased.

In the summer of 2022, a severe heat wave and drought hit Italy and all of Europe, because of which hundreds of rivers became shallow, many had to suspend shipping.
