The anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi was celebrated in Kazan within the framework of a gastronomic festival

In the capital of Tatarstan, within the framework of the gastronomic festival “Tasty Kazan”, the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi was celebrated.

The celebration of the poet’s anniversary, organized by the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Kazan, harmoniously fit into the atmosphere of the festival. A master class on cooking Turkmen national dishes - pilaf and yoke over a fire - became one of the highlights of the event.

These popular dishes of Turkmen cuisine attracted the attention of the participants, and real masters of their craft demonstrated the subtleties and secrets of their preparation, the press service of the Consulate General said in a statement.

Guests of the festival watched with interest the work of the chefs and asked questions about the technology of preparing Turkmen dishes. There was a long line of people wanting to try Turkmen cuisine.

While the pilaf was infusing in the warm summer weather, Turkmen cooks treated the guests to hot tungche tea, cooked over a fire in the traditions of Turkmen tea drinking.

The musical duo “Dutaryng sesi” performed on the main stage of the festival. Turkmen performers played songs based on the poems of Magtymguly Fragi for the festival participants, which caused a storm of applause from the audience.

At the end of the festival, participants were able to enjoy Turkmen national dishes. An exquisite buffet was organized for the guests of honor, where they were able to appreciate the skill of Turkmen chefs and the variety of dishes presented.

The event contributed to the acquaintance of residents and guests of Kazan with the traditional cuisine of Turkmenistan and the work of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi, which strengthened cultural ties between countries and peoples.
