The Ambassador of Turkmenistan told students of Yerevan University about the philosophical heritage of Magtymguly

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Armenia Muhammetgeldy Ayazov gave a lecture to students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Yerevan State University. The topic of the lecture is “The philosophical heritage of Magtymguly is the basis of the foreign doctrine of Turkmenistan”, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

The event was dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi, as well as the motto of 2024 “The Fount Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi”.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan said that Magtymguly’s ideas underlie the concept of neutrality and modern foreign policy of Turkmenistan. In his works, the classic called for the unity of peoples, respect for traditions and spiritual values.

Ayazov noted that translations of Armenian authors are periodically published in Turkmenistan, thereby emphasizing the literary ties between the two countries.

At the end, Turkology students recited Magtymguly’s poems in Armenian and received postcards with translations of his works.
