The Agency of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan is interested in the construction of dredging vessels

The management of the Turkmendenizderyayollary agency held negotiations with representatives of the shipbuilding company Damen Shipyards Gorinchem from the Netherlands. The official website of the agency reports this.

During the negotiations, Turkmenistan expressed interest in cooperation in the field of construction of dredging vessels at the Balkan shipbuilding and ship repair plant. In this regard, the Turkmen side requested a commercial proposal and information on equipment for the construction of a dredger.

It was noted that localization of production may be more economically profitable than importing finished ships.

In addition, during the negotiations, the possibility of modernizing the Deryayollary shipyard in Lebap velayat for the development of shipbuilding in Turkmenistan was discussed.

In general, the meeting showed the interest of both parties in cooperation and development of the shipbuilding industry of Turkmenistan with the involvement of advanced international experience.

Damen Shipyards Gorinchem B.V. is the parent company of the Damen Shipyards Group, which was founded in 1927 and specializes in modular shipbuilding based on standardized designs that reduce the time and cost of production and maintenance of ships.
