The actor who gave his voice to the Sorting Hat has died

British film actor Leslie Phillips has died at the age of 99, reported Film.ru with reference to The Sun.

The actor, or rather his voice, became known to millions of Potter fans due to the fact that it was Leslie Phillips who voiced the Sorting Hat in the first, second and final films of the Harry Potter franchise. Those who watched films in the original language could hear it.

Phillips in his life managed to star in more than two hundred films, TV shows, played on the theater stage and in radio shows. Among the famous film works of Phillips are roles in the TV series “Purely English Murder” and “Agatha Christie's Miss Marple”, as well as in the film “Lara Croft - Tomb Raider”.

Recently, in September, another actor who starred in the Harry Potter films, Robbie Coltrane, known for his role as Hagrid, also died.
