The activity of the Oriental Bazaar “Altyn Asyr” is resumed

On April 7, the Oriental Bazaar “Altyn Asyr” (Tolkuchka), located within the boundaries of Ashgabat in the “Choganly” region, resumes its activity. This is reported by the Arzuw NEWS publication, citing store owners who received instructions from the bazaar administration to prepare for the opening.

Restrictions on the activities of the “Altyn Asyr” Oriental Bazaar were introduced in July last year in order to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. This decision was made by the Extraordinary Commission of Turkmenistan for Disease Control on August 26, 2020.

“Altyn Asyr” is the fifth largest bazaar in Central Asia, covering an area of 154 hectares. On the territory of the bazaar there are over 2,000 shops, a hotel for visiting sellers and buyers, and numerous cafeterias.
