Textile industry is one of the leading branches of Turkmenistan’s economy.Owing to comprehensive support of the government, it has turned into the most dynamically developing branch of Turkmenistan’s economy.
More than two billion US dollars have been invested to construction of new and reconstruction of existing textile facilities for the years of independence.More than 70 facilities including textile complexes, cotton gin and weaving facilities, sewing factories, silk processing plants, shoe factories, initial leather and wool processing plants operate in the industry at present.
High-technology equipment made by world producer such as Reiter and Benninger (Switzerland), Trützschler, Schlafhorst, Zinser, Monforst, Küsters (Germany), Marzoli, Mario Crosta, Reggiani, Arioli, Savio (Italy), Tsudakoma, Juki, Muratec (Japan), Picanol (Belgium) and other is installed at existing facilities.
13 modern textile complexes, where production meeting modern requirements of international standards has been arranged, have been put into production with participation of foreign companies.The construction of other two modern complexes, which would be provided with the latest technological equipment including weaving, dying and sewing facilities is carried out.
Fine fiber cotton, which is produced in Turkmenistan, would be a material base for the facilities.
Profile integrated program of production and technical rearmament of the facilities of the sphere and opening of innovative production facilities based on own natural resources has been developed for solution of objectives given by the President of Turkmenistan.
The program will reduce import of production by wide range of high-quality own products at affordable price.It is planned to invest more than 300 million US dollars for implementation of more than 30 projects in textile industry until 2025.
Owing to this, the production will increase by 120 percent for these years.Implementation of planned activities will aloe textile industry of Turkmenistan carrying out permanent technical and technological rearmaments of existing and opening of new high-technology facilities.
Big investments will be used not only for increment of existing production capacities but also for opening of dozen of new facilities based on existing plants using modern technologies for production eco-friendly production.
The production of non-woven Spunlace and Spanbond materials as well as production of corduroy, new fabrics for women is planned to be launched at the facilities.Equipment for production of high-quality fabrics for sport wear will be installed.
Specialists will introduce automated technological lines at the facility for processing of camel and goat wool.
Polyester batting facility has been opened on the territory of Ashgabat Cotton Factory.The production of various belts for technological equipment has also been arranged.Production of rubber rings has been arranged at textile complex in Kypchak and production of disposable facemasks from non-woven fabrics at Ashgabat medical wool and cosmetic wool appliances.
Ashgabat Fashion House works on procurement of modern weaving machines from Japanese Shima Seiki, which will increase the production of weaving garments.
Successful implementation of these projects will increase the volume of sale production to one billion manats.It is planned to provide the requirements of local market with this production under implementation of import substitutive project, which will allow saving foreign currency reserves to the amount of 150 million US dollars.
The remaining part will be exported.The volume of gross income from export will be more than 140 million US dollars.
Together with introduction of the latest technologies, special attention in this sphere is paid to improvement of quality and compliance with the requirements of ecological safety.National industry is traditionally based on natural materials, which is an attractive factor for international brands, which place order all over the world.
The production of the leading facilities of the industry has received international recognition and ISO9001 and 9002, ISO14001 certificates, WRAP and OSHAS 18001 standards.
At present time, around 80 percent of textile production made in the country is exported to CIS, Europe, Asia and other parts of the world.Turkey, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Ukraine are the biggest consumers of production of textile complex of Turkmenistan.
It is supplied to 16 countries of the world.More than 30 facilities are exporters.Information about production export volume, which was 318.9 million US dollars for 11 months of 2020, indicates stable character of promotion of Turkmen textile in the world market.
Profile facilities have taken part in the exhibitions in the PRC, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Korea, Turkey, Germany and other countries. Site visits and exhibitions have been organized for foreign partners, which resulted in addition export contracts. The practice of sale of textile production at exchange trades, through trade houses and e-shops has been introduced.
Measures aimed at development of textile industry have to improve the level of development of the industry, competiveness of local textile in the world market and hence, to improve the economy of the country.
