Tesla presented its innovative creation in Hollywood the CyberCab robotaxi. This is a fully autonomous vehicle, devoid of traditional controls such as a steering wheel and pedals, “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” reports with reference to Carscoops.
Inspired by the futuristic Cybertruck pickup truck, the CyberCab impresses with its aerodynamic body and “butterfly” doors for easy entry. The absence of side mirrors and a rear window underscores its ultra-modern look. Inside, passengers are greeted by a spacious two-seater space with a large central display serving as an infotainment hub.
Elon Musk, Tesla's CEO, has announced that CyberCab will enter serial production as early as 2026. Notably, unlike its competitors, Tesla plans to make its robotaxi available for private purchase for less than 30 000 USD.
What makes the CyberCab unique is that it was designed from the ground up without any manual controls. This bold move could permit Tesla to begin production and sales without a lengthy regulatory approval process.
The presentation also featured the Robovan concept, an unmanned vehicle designed for mass passenger transportation, although its prospects for serial production remain uncertain.
While the technical characteristics of the CyberCab's power plant and range have not yet been disclosed, about 50 prototypes have already been built.
