Tennis player from Turkmenistan will compete for the first time in the junior Roland Garros selection

For the first time in history, a representative of Turkmenistan will take part in the junior qualifying tennis tournament Roland Garros, which will be held from August 5 to 9 at the Gorky Tennis Park courts in Almaty, reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.

Turkmenistan will be represented at prestigious international competitions by Sabrina Rahmanova, a student of the head coach of the national team Mirali Hasanova.

16 of the strongest tennis players under 17 years old from Central and Western Asia will take part in the qualifying tournament. Sabrina Rahmanova will fight for a place in the main draw of the 2025 French Open Junior Championships.

The young Turkmen tennis player prepared for the upcoming tournament as part of a three-week training camp, which took place in Uzbekistan in July this year.

“This event became significant not only for the athlete herself, but also for the entire tennis community of the country, opening up new horizons and opportunities for the development of tennis in Turkmenistan,” the Tennis Federation commented.

Roland Garros, one of the four Grand Slam tournaments, is held annually in Paris and is one of the most prestigious competitions in the world of professional tennis.
