President of the Republic of Tatarstan of Russia Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with the newly-appointed Consul General of Turkmenistan in Kazan Guych Garayev on Monday in the building of the Government of Tatarstan.
During the meeting, the sides noted the high level of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan as part of the strategic partnership with Russia, the Turkmen Consulate General in Kazan announced in its press release.
The Tatar President and the Turkmen envoy stated the potential for further development of bilateral cooperation and discussed opportunities for building mutually beneficial partnerships in different fields of interaction, including support for medium-sized businesses of the two sides to increase bilateral trade turnover, use of transport and logistics opportunities of Turkmenistan within the international transport corridor North-South.
Minnikhanov once again congratulated the newly-appointed Consul General of Turkmenistan and wished him success in his diplomatic career for the benefit of both countries and citizens.
In the near future, Consul General of Turkmenistan will also meet with officials of Tatarstan, as well as other Russian regions belonging to the consular district of the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Kazan.
Guych Garayev is authorized to represent and protect the interests of Turkmenistan and its citizens on the territory of the consular district, which includes the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Mari El, the Republic of Mordovia, the Republic of Tatarstan, the Udmurt Republic, the Chuvash Republic, the Perm region and the Kirov, Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg, Penza, Samara, Saratov and Ulyanovsk oblasts of Russia.
Prior to serving as Consul General of Turkmenistan in Kazan, Garayev served as Consul of Turkmenistan in Russia’s Astrakhan oblast.
