Tashkent Park to Appear in Turkmen Capital

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a meeting with Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov on Wednesday announced that the park titled Tashkent will appear in Ashgabat, Turkmen media reports.

Along with political and diplomatic topics, Turkmen and Uzbek officials discussed the possibilities of expanding bilateral economic and investment partnership, the main aspect of which is joint activities in the gas, electricity, transport and communications fields, trade, agro-industrial spheres.

During the meeting, it was noted that in 2020 the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan increased by 8.6%.

The sides focused on the importance of implementing joint large-scale infrastructure projects in the transport and communications sector, and, above all, on the formation of a new transit corridor.

At the end of the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov expressed confidence that relations between the two states, built on the principles of long-term and sealed by strong bonds of friendship, will continue to develop successfully for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
