The opening of “Tashkent” park in Ashgabat, which is being built to replace “the second park” on Magtumguly avenue, is scheduled to be held on 29 June, the birthday of Turkmenistan’s former President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov.
According to correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan”, constructions fences are being removed and the paths are mopped in the park. The park is also being cleared of the construction waste.
In addition, at the end of the month the Day of Culture and Art Workers and the Day of Magtymguly Pyragy’s poetry will be celebrated across Turkmenistan. The festive events will end with a large-scale concert, devoted to the birthday of Berdymukhammedov senior.
Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov told about the construction of “Tashkent” park in Ashgabat to Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov on 17 February 2021, during his visit to Turkmenistan.
The next day the newspaper “Neitralny Turkmenistan” published the tender announcement for the design and construction of the park built at the request of Ashgabat khyakimlik’s office.
On 17 March 2021 the delegation headed by Tashkent mayor Jahongir Artikhojaev paid a working visit to Ashgabat to familiarize themselves with the initial design of “Tashkent” park during the meeting with the Ashgabat mayor.
