TAPI gas pipeline project launched in Afghanistan

Practical work has begun in Afghanistan to implement the Afghan stage of the TAPI gas pipeline project, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Ariana news portal.

According to the publication, the technical equipment necessary for the implementation of the project has been delivered to the border area of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, and practical work has begun.

It is noted that a large number of people are working at various stages of the implementation of this project, and the first stage will be completed in the next two years.

According to the information, upon completion of the TAPI project, 12 thousand Afghan citizens will receive jobs, and the annual income of Afghanistan from the implementation of this project will be about a billion dollars.

The Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline is the largest regional infrastructure project, the implementation of which involves laying pipes over a distance of 1821 kilometers, while the throughput capacity of the gas pipeline should be 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year.
