On 20 June Taliban militants captured a military base in the western province of Badghis bordering Turkmenistan.During the attack 30 Afghan soldiers were reportedly killed, Reuters reports.
Moreover, two security posts were attacked in the region leaving four Afghanistan’s soldiers and 15 Taliban militants dead.
Abdul Aziz Bek, head of the Badghis provincial council, said the attacks had been prepared during a three-day ceasefire, announced in connection with Ramadan celebrations.
